Lineup was an internal plugin I built while working at Moodagent. It helped teams working in Figma quickly add music-themed placeholder data to their designs and prototypes. The plugin was heavily inspired by the Content Reel plugin.
Using Figma as a database
I cool thing about the plugin was how the content was stored and easily editable by everyone in the company using an internal Figma file. In this file, frames could be added with a title and either text or image nodes. Then, the plugin would fetch the file on load and structure the menus and content based on whatever was in the file.
This meant that anyone could simply open the file and add, delete, or edit any content, and instantly update the plugin without the need for any code changes.
